Warehousing
Mumbai, 25th
May, 2015: Sohan Lal Commodity Management (SLCM) bagged the award for Exemplary Position
in Supply Chain & Logistics- Agri Warehousing at the CII Scale Awards 2015.
The company was felicitated by Mr. S Ramesh, Chief
Commissioner – Customs, Govt. of India; Mr. Atulya Misra, Chairman – Chennai
port Trust, Govt. of India & Mr. R Dinesh, Chairman – CII Logistics
Advisory Council amidst a grand award ceremony held at ITC Grand Chola, Chennai
on May 22, 2015.
Talking about the same, Mr. Sandeep
Sabharwal – Group CEO, SLCM said “We are
proud to receive the award which is a huge recognition for the work we have
been doing all these years. It signifies our capability and is indeed a
motivation to continue innovating and creating even more benchmarks in the
coming years.”
The winners were selected after a
long deliberation by the esteemed jury which included eminent people from
various sectors with specialized knowledge. The award bestowed to SLCM
recognizes its warehousing capabilities with excellence and has set a road map
for other players in the market.
SLCM was a clear winner amongst several
large & medium sized logistics & supply chain Groups along with several
warehousing players which participated for the awards. While almost all market players present in the
sector focus on creating warehouse infrastructure, SLCM focuses only on
Scientific Warehouse Management Processes. The award bestowed to SLCM
recognizes the change the Group has brought to the industry & labelled as
challengers to the other players in the industry. A detailed FICCI study stated that by using
scientific warehousing processes of SLCM for managing agri logistics in existing
structures can reduce storage losses from 10 per cent to a mere 0.5 per cent,
translating into a saving of roughly 76,000 crores every year (Accredited by
FICCI in their study ‘India-US collaboration in Agriculture’).
SLCM’s excellent warehousing capabilities
has set a benchmark for the other players to follow.
